Little League Registrations Now Being Accepted – January Competition

December 8th, 2011 by Dennis No comments »

Hills Little League is back again these coming holidays. See the Hills Little League Website for more. Are you aged 12 or under as of December 31, 2011? Just can’t get enough baseball?

Come join us in the school holidays after Christmas and play Little League!

Little League is an exciting 10-game competition, which will run on selected weeknights and Saturdays in January. It won’t affect your club season. However, if you want even more baseball, Little League is the way to do it. Games are fast (1½ hours) and there’s no training. Just show up and play!

You won’t be with your weekend club team in Little League either. The system is that everyoneis placed into a “pool”, from which teams are selected. The idea is to try to get the teams as equal as possible, so that all of them have a real chance at winning the title.

The competition runs in two leagues:- Major League for players aged 11+, and Minor League for those 10 or younger. And here’s the best bit …

Hills will select two Tournament Teams from those in the Major League player pool. They will go on to contest the NSW State Championships at Easter. Whoever wins that will go on to represent NSW at the National Championships in Brisbane, perhaps Australia at the Asia-Pacific Tournament, and maybe even the whole region at the Little League World Series in America later next year! That almost happened in 2008, when the Hills North team won the Australian National Championship and went to Hong Kong for the Asia-Pacific round.

Be part of the excitement this season and register now. Places are limited.

Registrations are now being accepted and are closing on December 18th.

So don't miss out. Visit www.hillslittleleague.org.au for details and to register.
